Data we process and why

Editorial information

The publishing activity of Heldermann Verlag includes making information public on behalf of authors. Only information supplied for that publishing purpose is intended to be published.

Technical access data

When pages are requested, technical logs may contain the requested page, referrer URL, date and time, transferred data volume, IP address, and user agent. Processing serves the efficient and secure delivery of the website and is based on the publisher’s legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Contact and orders

If you contact the publisher by email or post, the information you provide is used to answer your request and any follow-up questions. Depending on the request, the basis is Article 6(1)(b), Article 6(1)(f), or, where requested, consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Hosting and external links

The current deployment is delivered through Netlify’s hosting infrastructure, which may process technical connection data on behalf of the site operator. Netlify states that data may be processed outside the country of collection, including in the United States, and describes safeguards including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Read Netlify’s privacy statement and data-protection information. Visiting any other externally linked service is subject to that service’s own privacy information.

Disclosure and retention

Information is disclosed to third parties only where permitted or required by law, including service providers acting on the publisher’s instructions. Data is deleted when it is no longer required for its purpose, unless statutory retention duties apply. Where deletion is not yet permitted, processing is restricted to the legally required purpose. The publisher’s official notice identifies retention periods of six years under § 257(1) of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and ten years under § 147(1) of the German Fiscal Code (AO) for the records covered by those provisions.

Cookies and analytics

The website code supplied here does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account registration, or an online contact form. It does not intentionally set analytics or marketing cookies. Contact is initiated through the visitor’s own email application.
